Louisiana’s 1st Choice Auto Auction has weathered the storm in the worst flooding in the history of our state. For that we are grateful. Sadly, many of our employees and customers were not spared the fast rising waters. Our focus now is to support those suffering in any way we can. We are collecting goods in our conference room and collecting funds through our GoFundMe site at https://www.gofundme.com/2k2p3ng to assist in the recovery effort. One way we can help is to do what we do every week…auction cars to car dealers. Now more than ever, there is a need for inventory to replace the thousands of cars lost in the flood. On Tuesday, August 23, we’ll host our 7th Annual Tailgate Event to kick off football season. We’ll have 1000 vehicles to auction, $10,000 in great prizes to give away, and a special visit from former New Orleans Saints running back, Deuce McAllister. He’ll be signing autographs and taking photos from 8am until 11am. And as always a delicious, free lunch will be provided. We hope you will join us in the lanes or online. AFC will offer 60 days for $60 and we will offer a fee discount for dealers that are located in FEMA declared disaster areas. Check with auction staff for details.
On a positive note, we are proud to receive two prestigious awards. We were selected as one of the 25 Best Auctions to Work For by Auto Remarketing and Best Companies Group who jointly underwrote the workplace study. Our motto is “Outstanding Service Begins with Outstanding People” and we believe we employ the best in our industry. We are glad they like working here.
We are also thrilled to win the National Auto Auction Association Inaugural 2016 Southern Chapter Auction of the Year Award. The award is for excellence in community service and comes with $5000 to be given to the charity or charities of our choice. This award also allows us to compete for the overall NAAA Auction of the Year Award which will be announced at our convention in November. We thank those who nominated us for this incredible award.
